Dual number automatic differentiation as applied to two-group cross-section uncertainty propagation

This work addresses the problem of propagating uncertainty from group-wise neutron cross-sections to results neutronics diffusion calculations. Automatic differentiation based on dual number arithmetic was applied propagation in framework local sensitivity analysis. As an illustration, we consider a two-group infinite medium, which has solution closed form. We employ automatic conjunction with sandwich formula for three ways. Firstly, by evaluating analytical expression multiplication factor using arithmetic. Then, solving power iteration algorithm and algebra matrices. Finally, is used calculate partial derivatives production loss operators perturbation adjoint-weighted technique. The numerical verified against formulas calculations are compared those global analysis approach. values obtained this differ given literature less than 1?10?5.
